A trivet, crafted to protect the table from heat, plays a crucial role in preserving this space and ensuring it remains a central point of gathering and connection.

How would you describe the cuisine?Trivet represents modern New Zealand cuisine, featuring the finest local produce and celebrating the multicultural essence of Aotearoa with inspiration from around the world. At Trivet, we don’t adhere to a single cooking style; instead, we honor the heritage and diversity of our people.

Why was this particular cuisine chosen?New Zealand cuisine is a fusion of various culinary traditions, primarily influenced by British, Māori, Polynesian, and Asian cuisines. Chef Wallace Mua has taken this a step further, incorporating global cooking styles while focusing on local produce and offering an approachable, sharing-style menu.

Does Trivet have private dining spaces?Yes, we have one private dining area, perfect for gatherings or functions, designed to host groups of up to six people. This space can be booked via hello@trivetdining.co.nz. Groups of up to 20 can also be accommodated in the main restaurant area. For tables of eight or more, a set menu option will be served. There is no minimum spend per se for the culinary table dining; however, as a standard, groups of eight or more are required to dine from a set menu.

Can I bring my own beverage or cake?Trivet will offer a beverage menu to cater to all needs, including a wide selection of local and international wines. If you wish to bring in a celebratory cake, please discuss this with our team; a fee will apply.

Where can I buy a voucher?Please drop us an email to hello@trivetdining.co.nz and our team will be happy to assist you purchasing a physical voucher. Alternatively, vouchers can be purchased in person at the restaurant with one of our team members.

Is there carparking available?We do not have any carparks on site, the closest carpark from us will be Wilson Federal Street or the Wilson Downtown carpark.

Booking PolicyAfter you complete an online booking, a reminder will be sent to you the day before your reservation. If you need to make changes to your plans, please notify us by emailing hello@trivetdining.co.nz at least 12 hours before your booking. If you are late, your table will be held for 15 minutes after your reservation time.

How often do you change the menu?Our menu undergoes two major updates annually, with ongoing small changes throughout the year. We also feature special monthly offers and host exclusive events to showcase new dishes and beverages.

Are children welcome?Yes, guests of all ages are welcome.
